The journey to bringing little Hannah into this world came with a few bumps along the way as we experienced a miscarriage in 2022. Our nerves were high as we continued to try, but on Feb 1, 2023 we got another positive result. We waited for growth and positive results from baby monitoring and tests along the way. On Jeremy's birthday in NYC we received our test results to discover our baby was healthy and strong and when we came back from our trip we got to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time. At this point we were ready to share the news to family and close friends. During our pregnancy we decided to keep the sex of the baby a mystery until we found out in real time at the hospital.
Megan continued to bake the most wonderful treat as the months passed and on October 10, 2023 Hannah Riley Moot was born into this world at 9:59pm (just a minute away from 10/10 @ 10). It began on 10/9 when during a routine midwife appointment Megan's blood pressure reading was high. They sent us over to the hospital just so we could get a more thorough reading. After that assessment it was determined that we should induce the birth for Megan's safety. This was not in our preparation planning, so we felt stuck and limitless on other options.
Luckily they sent us over to the birthing center where we got to work with our midwife team again. We were in good hands even though we weren't in the situation we planned. We hadn't even been able to grab our hospital bag and had to plan quickly since we would be at the hospital for the next couple days. After getting settled in Jeremy was given the go-ahead to run back home and get the hospital bag. He packed quite a few extras and developed a plan for Rigo. We connected with an amazing couple a block over who also have mini schnauzers. We actually got all the dogs to meet that day before admittance and so luckily they were prepared to take on Rigo for the few days we'd be gone.
